Outside Disney
Things Outside of the Parks
As everyone knows there are a ton of things to do while in Walt Disney World. However what if you are planning on longer stays or would be happening to be living in the Orlando/Lake Buena Vista/Central Florida area? Well if you are planning on venturing outside of the parks, the local area has tons of things to do. Listed below are some of my favorite things that I like to do.
- Going to all of the outlet malls. I honestly cannot believe how many outlet malls there are in the Orlando/Lake Buena Vista area.
- Going to the beaches. Everyone loves to go to the beach, and since your in Florida you might as well go. I recommend one of two beaches. First is Cocoa Beach, this beach is located on the Atlantic Ocean side of Florida. Located roughly about 45 minutes from Disney World. This is relatively close to the location of which the Disney Cruises launch. Next is Clearwater Beach. This beach is located about 1.5 hours away from Disney World. Clearwater is home quite a few celebrities such as Hulk Hogan.
- The Ringling Brother Museum in Sarasota, FL. This is a museum dedicated to the Ringling brothers and their love for the circus. I have never been but I have heard nothing but amazing facts about the huge mansion that houses the museum. A definite must see!
- Cape Canaveral. With the last space shuttle missions counting down, this is a MUST DO. Who would not want to see a space shuttle launch into outer-space? Everyone especially kids would love to witness it for their own eyes.
These are just a few things that you can do outside of Walt Disney World. Go ahead and go on your own special Central Florida adventure, just remember one thing, have the time of your life!
