Creating Magic For Cast Members!
Hey everyone! I had a question for all of you. Have you ever made magic at Walt Disney World? Did you know you can? Its true!! Have you ever had an amazing experience with a Cast Member who made you and your party feel so wonderful about being in Disney? They tell you Happy Birthday or Happy Anniversary or maybe greet a young little girl as a Princess. They help you with any and all questions that you may have about the parks and resorts. They go out of their way to be sure that you are having the most magical time in the most Magical Place on Earth. If you see or experience a Cast Member doing such a great job you can make some magic for them! How? Its simple, be sure you get their name and if you see some people in that same area wearing business casual clothing and a Disney nametage. These are the go-to people to tell about your magical Cast Member!
What does telling someone about a magical Cast Member do? When you tell someone that a Cast Member is doing a great job they will give that Cast Member a reward that we like to call a Great Service Fanatic, or GSF. What this does is lets everyone know that they are taking pride in their work and staying magical for the guests. This will also go on their record card and has a “gold star” type effect for anything that Cast Member might want to do down the road such as, transfer roles.
Creating magic is what we love to do here at Disney and if it wasn’t for all of you wonderful guests our job would just be a job!
“You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality.”- Walt Disney
Disney College Program: Must Haves For Check-In
Hey all of you about to check-in in Orlando for the Disney College Program! I am making a quick blog for you guys to make sure you have all the required documents for check-in!
- 2 types of ID (driver’s license, social security card, make sure your SSC is NOT LAMINATED, passport, birth certificate…)
- If you are driving be sure you have your registration, proof of insurance, and know your license plate number. Also be sure YOUR NAME is on your proof of insurance somewhere, and make sure even if your car insurance is through your parents policy, that you put it into your own name, they do not care where it just has to be on it. If you don’t have you name on it just tell your insurance provider that you need your name on your proof of insurance to prove to Disney that you can drive your vehicle.
- Be sure to have your On-Boarding Paperwork!! This is a must have to complete your check-in.
That is all that you will need, beside your entire move in items! I hope you all have a great check-in and a great program!

An Electrical Night

“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, the Magic Kingdom proudly presents our spectacular pagent of night time magic and imagination. In thousands of sparkling lights and electro-sythe-magnetic musical sounds: The Main Street Electrical Parade.” As most of you know the Main Street Electrical Parade came back to Walt Disney World in June, 2010. However as some of you might know the debut night for the public was not the first showing of this timeless parade. As a Cast Member you get “Cast Previews.” In this case I attended this Cast Preview of the Electrical Parade.
First we (Cast Members) had to wait for the park to completely empty. As the park was just about to empty all of the Cast Members went to meet at the old entrance to Toon Town. There stood hundreds of Cast Members. To be able to see the preview you had to show your Disney I.D. to prove you were indeed a Cast Member and not a guest. Then about 30 minutes until midnight all of the Cast Members headed down to Main Street. All of Main Street was lined with mostly CP’s (college program). Also there were film crews and photographers. All the video and photos they used for advertising was from the Cast Preview. Kinda cool, huh? I thought so.

Once we all were situated on Main Street I met up with my roommates and my cousin Ashley, now a seasonal Cast Member at Space Mountain, and waited for the parade to start. Once the music came on over the loud speakers the crowd went wild! You could feel all the energy that Disney’s parade created. The parade continued as it does today, however since it was the first run through there were some mishaps. For example, Smee had trouble steering his boat, they had trouble turning the America float from the the Hub to the Liberty Square bridge. Beside these things it ran like clockwork.
Overall it was a fun night with memories of seeing it first that I will never forget.
